Discovery flight: flat, low price: $175
Includes:

  • Pre-flight briefing
    • Meet your instructor
    • Go over the day’s plan, safety basics, and what to expect
    • Learn some basic airplane parts and controls
    • Review the planned flight plan around Omaha
  • Aircraft pre-flight inspection
    • Walk around the airplane with the instructor
    • Learn how pilots check fuel, oil, control surfaces, lights, and safety items before flying
  • Flight of approximately 45 minutes over the skies of Omaha
    • You’ll sit in the pilot’s seat while the instructor handles takeoff and landing
    • Once airborne, the instructor will let you take the controls to make turns, climbs, descents, and maybe hold straight-and-level flight
    • Fly over local scenic landmarks
  • Post-flight debrief
    • Review what you did in the air
    • Fill out and have your instructor sign logbook (time counts toward your private pilot certificate)
    • Discuss training options, costs, and next steps if you want to start lessons
